MedeAnalytics Announces Partnership with
Pathway Solutions to Deliver Comprehensive UK Healthcare Analysis

LONDON, 11 March, 2011 — MedeAnalytics, a leading provider of healthcare performance management solutions in the UK, today announces its partnership with Pathway Solutions, a specialist IT web-based solutions provider to the NHS. Pathway Solutions will offer its Validation Module as part of MedeAnalytics’ web-based, hosted Commissioning Performance Analytics solution to PCTs and GP consortia. The partnership will enable Pathway Solutions to reach a wider market through MedeAnalytics' resources, whilst providing a more comprehensive hosted solution to offer to existing and prospective clients.

Pathway Solutions provides the NHS with customised solutions to key financial and administrative issues, helping PCTs and GPs save money and increase operational efficiency. The Pathway Solutions Validation Module allows PCTs and GPs to quickly and easily match-up charges they are given by hospitals for individual patient care with their own records, then accept or reject the charges if there is an error.

Paul Fitzsimmons, managing director of MedeAnalytics, comments, “We first came into contact with Pathway Solutions because we were both providing solutions to Bexley Care Trust. There was a realisation that although the different solutions served different purposes, the intended outcomes were the same - improving efficiencies in PCTs and offering  transparency in GPs' commissioning of secondary care services to derive cost savings across the board.”

Jerry Lockspeiser, managing director of Pathway Solutions, comments, “We estimate that if every PCT in the country were to use the Validation Module properly and thoroughly, it would save in excess of £600 million per year of incorrect charging. Both solutions were designed by clinicians for clinicians. The Validation Module fills an important gap in our product portfolio. MedeAnalytics has been granted the exclusive rights to supply the Validation Module in a hosted environment. Lockspeiser stated, “Although Pathways Solutions will continue to sell the Validation Module independently, we would encourage prospects to use the solution through MedeAnalytics, because it offers healthcare organisations a complete solution and is available through a secure hosted environment.”

Fitzsimmons concludes, “By creating a single, seamless, integrated solution, everybody benefits. PCTs and GPs, who are experiencing increasing pressure on time because they are now commissioners as well as doctors, don’t have to keep jumping between disparate systems. Nor do they have to overhaul their infrastructure to host the Validation Module, thereby transferring the risks and capital costs away from the customer, whilst speeding up the time it takes to deliver a complete solution.”
