East of England Selects MedeAnalytics' Clinical Commissioning Analytics

Solution to help facilitate clinical and pathway decisions

LONDON, 13 October, 2011— MedeAnalytics, a leading provider of healthcare performance management solutions, announced today that a cohort of five East of England Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) comprising NHS South East Essex, NHS South West Essex, NHS Norfolk, NHS Bedfordshire and NHS Hertfordshire, has selected MedeAnalytics' Clinical Commissioner solution to provide invoice validation services and performance analytics.

The PCTs and their stakeholders, including GPs, commissioners and providers, will leverage the solution's features in the provision and commissioning of acute healthcare services, in line with the Government's Clinical Commissioning Group development and Quality, Innovation, Productivity and Prevention (QIPP) programs. Clinical Commissioner will help monitor utilization and ensure accurate payment for services that lead to saving the Trusts money and improving efficiency.

Simon Rollason, Program Manager for the East of England PCT cohort, explains, "As a region, the East of England is extremely diverse, with the commissioning and provision of acute healthcare services actually quite disconnected between the various stakeholders. We also have varying healthcare needs according to the different demographic dynamics. The cohort went to market in spring 2011 to evaluate solutions that would draw data from information systems across the group and provide the insight the Trusts required. Having done due diligence with Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) and GPs involved in the evaluation process, the MedeAnalytics' solution was unanimously selected as providing the most comprehensive capabilities that would meet the Trusts' immediate needs for improved invoice validation, as well as ongoing insight and intelligence to support clinical and pathway decisions.
