Anthony McKeever Appointed as Chief Executive of MedeAnalytics International
Former chief executive within the NHS with 35 years of experience to lead growth
LONDON, 6 February, 2012— MedeAnalytics, a leading provider of healthcare performance management solutions, announced today that Anthony (Mac) McKeever has been appointed as chief executive for MedeAnalytics International based in London. McKeever will spearhead the company's continued growth, promoting the Clinical Commissioner and FT Navigator solutions to the UK market.
McKeever started his career in the Department of Health, where he progressed through the "fast stream" to become secretary to the NHS Management Board and private secretary to Sir Len Peach, the first chief executive of the NHS. After 12 years in the Civil Service, he left to take up a board job at Mersey Regional Health Authority, where he later served as district general manager in Crewe.
In 1993, McKeever joined the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, where he spent several happy years as the Trust's chief executive. He took over as chief executive of Warwickshire at the end of 1998, where he established the Health Authority in its new strategic commissioning role.
In August 2000, McKeever left the NHS to set up his own consultancy business. Early assignments included a leadership development programme for consultant nurses, waiting-list reviews for various NHS organisations, and several projects with pharmaceutical companies. The business grew rapidly on the back of a series of successful and high-profile turnaround projects in both commissioning and provider trusts, including West Herts, Brighton & Sussex University Hospitals, and Surrey & Sussex Healthcare.
Most recently, McKeever was the chief executive of Bexley Care Trust where he helped GPs transform local performance, establishing Bexley as a leading Pathfinder whose achievements were recognized in three prestigious Health Service Journal awards, including the Secretary of State's award for excellence in healthcare management.
"I am pleased to join MedeAnalytics at this exciting time and have the opportunity to leverage their solutions to support health reform and help drive performance improvement in the UK healthcare market," said McKeever. "As more and varied data become available within healthcare, it will be critical to have solutions that provide operational insight to drive clinical and financial performance."
"Mac brings a wealth of experience as an executive with a track record of delivering results in the NHS, and his leadership will help both our clients and company achieve their respective objectives," said David Watson, chief operating officer of MedeAnalytics.
McKeever was appointed last year to the NHS Future Forum, which conducted a "listening exercise" on behalf of the government and produced two reports on aspects of the proposed healthcare reforms.
